Day 4: Dublin - Oslo

Salam

The flight to Oslo from Dublin took less than 2 hours but remember, Oslo time is one hour ahead of Dublin time. So my flight arrived at Oslo Rygge Airport at 9.25am. The ticket that I bought a month earlier cost me £22.
The airport is somewhat like our own LCCT or less. They don't even have money changer so we need to either bring the NOK ( Norwegian Krone) or draw from the ATM machines. From what I saw in the airport, there are lots of backpackers spent their night there and from what I heard from a girl I met there, the guards won't say anything as long as you don't block their way. So feel free to sleep there. Plus they have free Wifi too. wink wink..

The information counter is at the arrival hall and they speak limited English. But with a little effort I managed to get the information on how to get to the city centre. The cheapest way and fastest too I supposed is the train. Cost NOK117 which include bus transfer from the airport to the train station and from the Rygge Train Station to the Oslo Sentralstasjon.
Look at that! I am so happy to see this! the trees the water the train. 3 elements that can really make me happy. ( to my future husband..please take note. hehe)
This is the view the moment you stepped out of the station. The 'me' or 'we' thingy there looks kinda interesting right? The weather is quite nice, not as cold not as warm..just nice. So after google-ing the direction to my hostel, I decided to walk there since it looks kinda near in the map. ( nope. not near. took me 20 minutes. bad google!)
The name of the hostel is Anker Hostel. Nothing to to with any horror..haha. Nice hostel even have luggage room if you planned to check-out early in the morning but did not want to bring the bags together just yet. Exactly what I needed. Cost me NOK230 for a bed in 10-bed all female room. great price for the quality of the service. plus there's a tran stop about 50meter from the hostel front door. Very convenient. So i spent the whole evening recharging my energy ( sorry, too tired already. i know i know..i wasted most of my time sleeping..huhu) because I know tomorrow I will be walking and going places the whole day. I woke up later in the evening to meet the other girls in the room. They are all solo travellers just like myself. This is what I love about staying in hostel. I get to meet new faces and share stories and information especially about the best spots of Oslo. Then I went to dinner with this one girl which then I learn that she too love travelling alone. The dinner that night cost me NOK128 and  we stopped by at the shop to buy water because I excidentally dropped my bottle somewhere earlier and one small mineral bottle cost me NOK33. huhu. this is almost RM16 ok!! Trivia: Norway is one of the most expensive country in the world. So, again..be prepared. Luckily i have my serunding. haha. Oh I forgot, i bought one bunch banana with just NOK8. That's is weird. I know. haha.

Another new face I met in Oslo.
To the left is the hostel, and that's the tram station on the right. See. Super near right? hehe. love this!

Oh, before i went to the hostel, i bought the ticket for Stockholm for NoK259.

So, that's the end of the first day in Oslo, not much. So wait for the second day. haha.

Total expenses: (plus the bus ticket to Stockholm) = £22 + NOK742

Peace and out~

Day 2: Dublin

Salam,

Dublin is a city of literature they say and a visit to all the libraries and places related to authors are a must to visit. So they say. But since most of the libraries, museums and pretty much everything have entrance free, I skipped all those and focused on the 'free' places hehe. Well you know how backpackers on super tight budget are right? When you are in Dublin City Centre, the one thing that you cannot missed is the Spire of Dublin! Me and my friends been calling it the needle.
It does look like a needle from this angle right? haha
This is the real thing, it was destroyed by the Irish because this was built by English. But the replaceing Spire of Dublin too is an English design. funfact. hoho

Again. This is the Spire of Dublin. If you miss it, that means you are just blind. hehe. sorry.
You heard bout Guinness beer? this is the place they made it originally. there are packed with people the whole day. no not me. i can't stand the smell. Sorry no review on this. hehe
one of the monument in Pheonix Park. great place to bring your kids for a run. or just bring yourself for a sunbath. i love it!
This was taken at The Little Museum of Dublin. I forgot U2 is irish. and here they have one whole room dedicated to Bono and U2. The museum is free to visit if you take the freedom pass.
in front of the museum, there is this park called St Stephen's Green. Took a stroll here while enjoying the sun and while i checked for the places i can visit later on.
The view is just great and calming.

In front of the green, there's this shopping mall. great view too. worth a visit.
Dublin Castle
The Royal Church. Those uncles were really friendly. Seriously this is the reason why I am not scared of travelling alone.
It never occur to me that the Irish don't really like the English. They even painted the post boxes green after they win aginst the English. Just wow!
The Croke Park. there are 2 stadiums in Dublin and both can be reached with public transport. no worries.
The second one is Aviva Stadium. It is nearby the beach. the beach!!!
And here's the beach! yey! Sandymount's beach.

There are lots more pictures but if i put it all here for sure this entry will crash again. So feel free to search me on instagram with the name azyy_ishak or just search with the #azyjenjalan. but be prepared. they are too much picture there you might get bored. hehe. so don't say I don't warn you.

Oh. later that day, I checked to my next hostel, a horrible one. but I think they still have chance to improve with all the bad reviews they got on Booking.com. Spent the night in a 10-bed dorm with another 9 men. Crazy? oh..it was fine. I was under my blankie the whole night. hahaha. thanks to this 62 years old grandpa. He guard me well. haha. Well..it was a new experience that i will never ever forget.

That's all for my Day 2 updates. Stay tune for the rest of the updates

oh yes, expenses for Day 2: I bought water and paid for the second night at the hostel and total cost = €16

Peace N out ~

Mending heart

Salam,

Yesterday was partial bad and partial great. But life must go on. Right ey?

Since everyone went to Livingston for summer sale, i decided to take 'me time'.  After done with meetings, i wander around Glasgow city, first planning to find a spot under a tree near Clyde river. But when i reached St Enoch, i saw a bus. Tried to board the bus and i wanted to buy day pass. But i forgot they wont give back change and i don't have enough change. So i continue my walks. Then i reach Glasgow Central Station
Still not sure what i want to do. So i stepped inside. And aim for the promo tickets or anything such. Then i say the SPT Roundabout ticket which you can but £6.30 ticket and there's more than 100 stops you can reach. Unlimited. For a day. Haha i was happy.

My first stop was Neilston. Small town with population of 5000. I googled the town and they say the church was build in the 2nd century. So i went to check it out.
The tower and the graves did look ancient.
One of the art they put along the walkside.
Great hill view
This is Newton station. I stop here for transit to go to my next stop. From the bridge i can see Newton as a small village.

This is my second stop, Motherwell. It was the day the Commonwealth baton passed this town. But i think i missed it.
North Lanark Heritage Center. Stop here for the view from the tower.
Here's the view from the tower
Tjus is the town center. Small town but much to see. Quite near to Glasgow. Placed one park named Strathclyde Park and home for Motherwell FC.
Third stop, Milngavie (pronounce as mill-guy) nice town. Some how this town felt cooler than Glasgow.
You can take the West Highland Way route from here up to Fort William. I'm not sure how long I'm going to take if I try. Haha
Fish ladder for salmon.
I planned to go to Dumbarton as my next stop but there was a technical problem with the lines and all train was cancelled. And i was stuck in Westerton for almost 2 hours. After the station master told us there is no trains on the way to the station for God knows how long. I headed to the bus stop for the city as i started to feel hungry and tired to wait any longer.
Heading to the bus stop
I reached Glasgow around 9pm finding this. Ahaha love the idea! So wait for my next journey with bikes. Yey!

Peace and out~
